Penne Rigate is a must have pasta enjoyed worldwide, togheter with spaghetti, loved for its supreme versatility. Created in Genoa during the 19th century, they take their name from the nibs of fountain pens, whose shape they seemed to imitate. This is more unique than rare because, of this format, we also know the year of its birth: it was a pasta manufacturer from Genoa, who patented a diagonal cutting machine to make the pens, in 1865.

Made with 100% Senatore Cappelli wheat, it is particularly rough because it’s bronze-drawn and thanks to this processing is particularly suitable to collect and bind the tastiest and richest sauces, a trait further enhanced by the grooves and its diagonal shape. Its robust and nutty taste goes well with intense and tasty sauces. Each dish is a celebration of tradition, quality, and flavour.
